After doing extensive research on various adjustable dumbbells, I zeroed in on Ironmaster’s quick lock set. I just received them a few weeks ago and they are great! Very rugged and well made. Should last a lot longer than their plastic competitors. I also ordered the curl bar that works with the dumbbells’ weight plates. Overall, I’m very satisfied with everything!

My son and I purchased the dumbbell set a month ago and are extremely pleased with it. The design, quality and functionality are fantastic. We bought direct from the showroom in Monroe WA and were excited to see some of the other Ironmaster equipment especially the multifunctional benches which have the same positive qualities. We have added them to our home gym wish list.

Having been a precision machinist for over a decade I can say these are one of the highest quality designs Ive ever seen. They lock so tight its amazing. They proprietary locking shaft is ingenious. They have replaced countless pairs of fixed DB’s. If you are looking for an investment thats well worth the money, these live up to the hype and then some! These are solid!

I didn’t realize I could love a piece of equipment so much. The dumbbells with stand look great in the home gym, and I’m extremely impressed with the build quality. They are absolutely bombproof and I’ve got no worries that these will last a life time. Shipping was quick once they were in stock, and to be honest it was also some of the best packaging of equipment I’ve ever received. In total it came in 6 boxes, each plate individually wrapped, all items could survive a nuclear winter. I would recommend these to anyone looking for an adjustable dumbbell and after using all of the other “competition” in the past I’m absolutely sure the Ironmasters are the clear winner.

I'd been looking at these for awhile. Bought the Super bench and a bunch of the exercises so I know ironmaster is good, but these are pricey and hard to find in stock. Finally bit the bullet and bought them when they were in stock. All Ironmaster stuff is good, but these things are even a step up from their normal stuff. The dumbells look like a work of art. More importantly they work great and I've already worked up to using 80's on incline bench. Highly recommend the dumbell spotter as well. Without it I don't think I could lift nearly as much.

First impression of these dumbbells are very good quality as they all arrived miraculously No damage to any of the shipping boxes everything was well packaged. In comparison I've actually owned the power block Pro DBs 90lb and yes even though They are more efficient when it comes to adjusting the weights due to the box type design aka cage They just feel unnatural compared to ironmaster. If you're considering these vs power blocks I definitely have to say Ironmaster for the win most people rest anywhere from 60 - 90 seconds which is plenty time to change the weights on these dumbbells. The knurling on the handle feels good not super aggressive but not passive either. I've also had the opportunity to utilize Nuobells And I would still choose ironmaster over them as they just don't feel like commercial dumbbells. When you use ironmaster It just feels like a real commercial gym dumbbell It does not feel awkward at all. Overall I'm very impressed with my purchase and have no regrets definitely worth the money you won't regret it.

I have a dumbbell set up to 50lbs and quickly needed heavier dumbbells. With DB sets from 55-100lb pairs ranging up to almost 3k and the thought of how much room it would take in my garage...this was a no-brainer. Easy to add and remove weights, and I have tye add on that let's it get to 120lbs. Very small profile and a lot of versatility. Perfect solution

I'm impressed with the solidity of the dumbells even at 120 lbs. I am very grateful for the excellent engineering. They are a TON cheaper than buying heavy dumbells individually and save a TON of space. Switching the weight is like counting how many dollars I have saved with this purchased. Nicely done!

I recently bit the bullet and purchased the 75# adjustable dumbbell set. This is my first set of adjustable dumbbells and I did a ton of research. For me, I already had existing smaller dumbbells (in the 10-35# range), so was drawn to Iron Master set for two prime reasons: durability and accommodating heavy loads. Most adjustable dumbbells in this price range have plastic internals for the interlocking mechanisms. While quicker, I expect they are far less durable and most certainly don't advertise that you can drop them; in fact, most tell you not to.
I've had them now for a few weeks, and though I haven't really pushed it to the limits and dropped them from several feet, they definitely feel durable. So far, so good.
Granted, I'm only a few weeks in, but so far my impression is that I would recommend them to anyone looking for a rugged, long-lasting dumbbell to add to their home gym.

Expensive, but worth it. Love the quick adjust and solid feel. The only person unhappy with my purchase was the UPS guy who had to deliver them!

Back when gyms closed due to Covid, we all scrambled to set up home gyms. New companies sprang up with no track record. The demand for established products like the Ironmaster dumbbells were insane. After about 3 months of trying I finally was able to order. They were everything I assumed. No plastic parts to break and shaped like traditional DBs. They aren't cheap but compared to any other adjustables, they're worth every dime if you want something that will outlive you.

After watching and reading tons of reviews I settled with these Ironmaster adjustable dumbbells. I liked Powerblocks as well, but Ironmaster won out for durability incase of drops, and more natural feel. Even as you add plates, they never feel too long or big in relation to a regular dumbbell of the same weight. The other adjustables didn't feel as nice. I also added the heavy handle kit at the same time I bought these and it really gives the handle grip a nicer feel by shortening the handle length. They feel great! I notice no difference between these or regular dumbbells. I'm still working on adjusting the plates faster, but the system works great. No rattles, no plate movement (they fit very tightly), and a natural feel. The stand was smaller than I expected, but it works and the positive is it takes up very little space. Compared to the space a traditional set would occupy, the footprint on these is nothing! You won't regret getting this setup!

Scarce: Yes, they took forever - to be available. I have been trying to buy these since the Pandemic began. Pricey: Are they? If you buy individual weights, to 75lbs - not really. Quality and Ease of use: Priceless and Spot-On. I would wait again and again for the quality that came with this. Most adjustable weight are flimsy, and “Shakey”, at best; these are SOLID. Highly recommended. Spend the money, this is worth it. I’m waiting on the Add-On, to get to 120lbs.

I was looking for a high quality and strong adjustable dumbbell set. After using other brands that had plastic components, I was happy to find Ironmaster. Everything is steel and very strong. I like the aesthetics and the design a lot. The only detraction I commonly see is that it takes time to adjust the dumbbells. This doesn’t bother me at all because I lift heavy 90% of the time. I’m in no hurry to change the weight plates for a 70lbs dumbbell press. As soon as the expansion kit is back in stock, I will be purchasing that immediately.

This is my first time buying gym equipment after deciding to make my own gym at home, these are easily the best investment in my health and fitness journey I have made and will probably ever make. Unfortunately if you are someone who needs to do supersets with different weights, they are not super fast to change weight (considering you have to do all 4 sides) which is not a problem for me at all because I am a slow lifter. Still worth every penny regardless if that's a problem for you or not, I can't give anything less than 5/5

I've been using the Ironmaster adjustable dumbbells for around a month now, and I've been really pleased with their performance. After a lot of research, I decided to get these vs the Nuobells, Powerblocks, Bowflexs, and Pepins. I love how these use absolutely no plastic, and because of the square ends of the weights, they're extremely easy to add or remove weight from with the quick lock system. Even though some competitors can be slightly faster, knowing that these aren't fragile and won't break after being dropped is a huge peace of mind. Swapping weights only takes around 30 seconds, which is the perfect weight time between sets.
I'll probably be getting the heavy handle kit in a few months, but for my current level, these are a great range of weights.

If I saw this product in a sporting goods store I might look at it twice. It is a unique design, plates change quickly, the lock bolt is easy to operate. I like the sturdy cabinet that is easy to assemble. The plates are heavy duty, The only real negative is the price. It's a great product but expensive.

This is a great set of dumbbells, they are secure, heavy duty, easy to adjust, and have the same feel as traditional non-adjustable dumbbells.
I wish I discovered these before I found the Powerblocks, it is nice to finally have a reliable dumbbell set that does not use fragile and flimsy parts, unlike Powerblock. My set of Powerblocks became unsafe and nearly unusable with all the parts that kept chipping away and snapping off.
I am absolutely impressed with the high quality of this product, and the way it was so carefully shipped really caught my attention and showed that this is a company that cares and stands behind its product. Thank you Iron Master!

The very first thing you notice is the quality of materials used. Everything is clean, undamaged (very well packed), and clearly durable (chrome plating looks of high quality with powder coated weights). I haven't really banged em around much yet but I'm hoping I'm right when I say that I can see these withstanding the test of time and frequent use. Other products may change weight faster (comparable to changing weights on a barbell, with only 5lb plates available), but not with the availability of the additional weight (of the add-ons) my only complaint is that the pack of hardware to assemble the stand was missing the screws for the top platform but ironmaster was quick to respond to my email and send some out. Great customer service and quality product.

This adjustable dumbell set is fantastic! The quality is incredibly high, and they are easy to use. The quick-lock system allows for easy and fast changing of weight. I have no complaints and would buy them all over again in a heartbeat!

I began my search for adjustable dumbbells with a similarly priced competitive "selectable" dumbbell product - both dumbbells arrived broken on my doorstep. They were not packaged well and their customer service was disappointingly subpar. I could never imagine hoisting those 80lb "selectable" dumbbells with plastic parts above my head after seeing how easily they broke in transit.
In contrast, the Ironmaster dumbbells were packaged very well and all parts of my order (dumbbells, stand, kettlebell) arrived in absolutely perfect condition (same carrier as before). This kind of attention to detail from Ironmaster truly communicates what kind of company they are!
I am very impressed with the build quality of the dumbbells, plates, stand, and kettlebell (and I'm very picky about these things). Everything works exactly as advertised. While it takes a few moments longer to change plates, I find the process to be totally reasonable between sets. The tradeoff for having super solid (no movement) and reliable dumbbells is definitely worth it, and I feel very safe using this product.
Well done, Ironmaster. Thanks for doing things the right way.

Very well built and easy to use. I love using these things, very compact too. I think they are easier to hang onto than even a regular dumbell. It's so nice to have 5 to 75lbs adjustable dumbells. They change out fairly quick. These are one of my better purchases.
Ryan (Georgia) | May 21st, 2022
Dumbbells are much more sturdy than anticipated. Feel secure, and with plenty of handle space. Changing weight is easy and quick. No issues.
Van (CA) | April 6th, 2022
I've been using these, along with the additional weight kit, for over 15 years and they are still working great. I mostly only use them for heavy sets. I've supplemented them with quick select dumbbells for speed. If I could only have one set, it would be these.

no words needed as these are the best in the business

When I see criticisms of Ironmaster dumbbells, it's usually around how "long" it takes to switch weights.
First of all, with a little practice, it doesn't take long at all. I can always change my weights during my rest period.
The other issue you might have is a workout partner, especially one who isn't as strong as you. For me, this is my wife.
So here's what I did...
I have a dumbbell set from 5-50lbs. Why? Lower weights are cheaper and take up less room, my wife rarely goes above 50lbs for anything, if her and I are working out together it's in the lower weights where we'll "clash," and if I need to switch weights really fast it's likely to be the lower weights.
I use the Ironmasters for anything over 50 lbs. I have the heavy handle set (highly recommend) which brings this set up to 90 lbs. I'll probably buy the next weight upgrade in the next year or so. If bought separately, these dumbbells would get expensive and take up a ton of room.
And this works because my wife and I aren't sharing anything over 50, and I rarely need to drop or add weight quickly when I get into this range.
TLDR:
1. The time it takes to change weights is exaggerated. The slight increase in time is 100% the massive increase in quality and feel.
2. Consider a hybrid approach like mine if you want the best of both worlds.

I just received the QLDB 5-75 lb set and stand. The handles, stand, and plates were packed very well and arrived in pristine condition. The stand assembled easily, looks great, and is compact, taking up less floor space than the old 5-50 lb power blocks and stand that this QLDB set is replacing. I also own an IM1000 machine with accessories that has served me well for many years. I recently added the IM2000 bar hooks and safety spotter arms, adding free-bar capability to my IM1000 machine. It’s great that Ironmaster strives to maintain compatibility with legacy products when possible. The quality, fit and finish of these QLDBs and my other Ironmaster equipment is fantastic. I just ordered the heavy handle kit for the QLDBs to make them as compact as possible for a given weight. Once available I will purchase the 120 lb add-on kit for a total QLDB capacity of 135 lbs. Realistically this is more weight than I’ll likely ever need, but one can hope. Hats off to you ridiculously strong guys and gals that enjoy working out with the 160 lb add-on kit!
Note From Store Owner: Hats off to you, Don, thank you for your time and review!

Solid construction. Simple rugged design. No weird rubber coating to wear off. Grip has good traction that isn’t too aggressive. Now to figure out which of my kids gets to inherit these as they’re probably going to outlast me.

It has been 14 years and still nobody makes a set as good as these and especially one that goes to 160lbs! I love my set and am getting the heavy handle kit and maybe the kettlebell next.
I do wish they were US made though.

We are proud to be a family founded/owned US SMB, and while we do manufacture overseas this allows us to provide a more affordable but still high-quality product that more Americans will have access to -- all designed right here in the great USA.

My husband and I recently purchased these for our home gym (after a long, long lottery process) and we love them! Adjusting the weights takes a minute to get used to but once you do it's smooth sailing. The quality is great and shipping was very fast. Worth the wait of the lottery!
