This is a great set of plates to use with an IM2000 machine or other equipment. Rubber encased construction helps prevent your home gym floor and other surfaces from the harsh metal surface that other brands of Olympic plates have. Aside from added protection, the rubber encasing also helps minimize noise in your home gym while performing lifts. This is a great benefit for those of you who exercise early in the morning and don't want to disturb others in your home with weights clanking around while performing lifts. Each individual plate is embossed with the Ironmaster logo.
These plates have some natural rubber odor, as with all rubberized weights, however the odor is lower than most other brands. You should expect some smell if used in an enclosed space when new, but this will diminish over time as they are exposed to the air. Weight tolerance is +/- 3%.

Durability and longevity. I've had these weight plates for about a month now. I use these plates 6 times a week in a shaded patio and cover them with a tarp when not in use. I mention this because the rubber coating is already wearing off after a month. I don't drop these weights either; if anything, I'm diligent with them. I lay them on concrete at most and mainly on a stall mat. There were also no issues with shipping. Before purchasing these Ironmaster plates, I considered the Rogue Echo bumper plates. Still, they were a bit more expensive, so I went with Ironmaster. I'm a big fan of Ironmaster, but I wish I had spent more on the Rogue Echo bumper plates for better durability and longevity.
Rubber odor and off-gassing. They come with an odor, and 1 month in, it's about 65% less than when it came brand new. This is no issue for me. As I stated earlier, I lift outdoors on my patio. If anything, I like the smell; it's like a new car smell. You should consider this if you have a sensitive nose and live indoors.
Weight Increments. Another reason why I bought this set is because of the weight increments included with the set. It's the most efficient increment to buy. With this set, you can increase weight from 45lbs (bar) to 320lbs in 5lbs increments. So, bar 45lbs + 275lbs, you have 320lbs total weight to grow into.
Aesthetics. I think we all can agree the name "Ironmaster" just goes too fucking hard. The shape and color does not piss you off and the handles gives me a better quality of life. I like to use the handles for farmers' carries, and overall, the weight plates are easier to move around. I also own the Ironmaster quick-lock dumbbells and wanted my barbell and weight plates to match the dumbbells. I have an Ohio Power Bar stainless steel x proprietary black with a Rogue USA aluminum collar to match the locking bolts from the quicklocks.
I hate to give Ironmaster products anything below a 4 out of 5 stars. Still, the durability and longevity matter most to me. I wrote a detailed review because I genuinely care about and appreciate this company, as its design philosophy focuses on efficiency. At Mr. Dawson, if you are reading this, you are the man!
